LASOONI DAL TADKA

Instructions

  1. Wash and boil the dal with turmeric and salt. In a large pan heat ghee and splutter cumin and pinch of hing.

  2. Add chopped ginger and garlic, green chilies. Sauté well. Add ¼ tsp turmeric and ½ tsp chili powder. Sauté on low flame.

  3. Now add cooked toor dal and mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding ½ cup water or more.

  4. Simmer for 2 minutes or until dal absorbs flavor. 2 tbsp. coriander and 1 tsp lemon juice. Mix well. Now in a small pan, heat ghee and sauté garlic, dried red chili.

  5. Turn off the flame and add ¼ tsp chili powder and 1 tsp coriander. mix well

  6. Pour the tempering over dal and mix well.Serve the hot dal with rice / roti.
