  1. Wash and boil the dal and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan add ginger paste, green chili, sauté it add chopped tomatoes cook well.

  2. Add turmeric , Deggi chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder , Garam masala jaggery, kokum and water as required , boil it for few minutes

  3. Take off the peanuts cup, add 1½ cup water and boiled peanuts and keep is aside.

  4. Whisk the dal until it turns creamy and smooth. Mix well adjusting consistency as required.

  5. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the flavors are well absorbed. Adjust the seasiong.

  6. Now prepare the tempering and pour over dal, also add 2 tbsp. coriander and mix well.

  7. Finally, enjoy Gujarati dal recipe tastes great when prepared slightly watery consistency.
