COCONUT CHUTNEY

  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender or mixer. Grated fresh or frozen coconut, roasted channa dal, chopped ginger, cumin seeds, green chillies and salt grind them.

  2. Add ¼ cup water or as required and grind to a smooth chutney. Do not add too much water. For a thicker consistency, add less water

  3. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a frying pan. Keep the heat to a low. Then add 15 to 20 curry leaves, Urad dal, dry red chilli, and hing and mustard seeds.

  4. Fry them stirring often till they become crisp and this takes just about 1 or 2 minutes. Remove the pan from hot plate and keep it aside. Let this curry leaves and oil mixture cool.

  5. Serve Coconut Chutney with plain dosa or rava dosa or rava idli or Uttappam.
